Buyer guide · Buffers

What is a call buffer?

A buffer is the minimum talk time with your agent before a call becomes billable. At Omnia Connect the clock starts when your agent answers; ring time, IVR and hold time never count. Common buffers are 60, 90, 120 and 180 seconds.

Questions buyers ask

Will I pay for calls under the buffer, or calls that never happened?

No. The buffer clock starts when your agent answers; ring time, IVR and hold time never count. Every billable call has a call ID and a recording in your portal for 90 days. Flag any call ID within 48 hours and valid disputes are credited to your balance.

How do you keep out callers who only want giveback benefits?

Trained human screeners qualify every caller before the connection, and every call carries documented consent to speak with a licensed agent. Share your dispositions and we tune screening toward the callers who close for your room.

Can I turn calls off or slow them down?

Yes. You set your hours, time zone, daily caps, hourly caps and maximum concurrent calls, and can change them any time. Real-time capacity checks hold calls when your floor is full, and calls pause automatically when your prepaid balance reaches zero.

What happens if my agent doesn't answer?

The call rings for 20 seconds, then routes to your next available line if you have one. Unanswered calls are never billed.

Which buffer should I choose?

It depends on your vertical and how fast your agents qualify. Tell us your close rate and we recommend a buffer in your written quote within one business day.
